A personal loan from a bank or loan company can be either secured or unsecured.

Unsecured bank loans from our loan company are available from 1000 to 1 million, and the loan can be completed within 48 hours. Generally, you should have a good credit history in order to be accepted for these types of loan. However, there are specialist loan companies in the market place who will offer unsecured bank loans with bad credit.

Secured bank loans are available for any amount and people with a bad credit history eg defaults, county court judgements (ccj's), mortgage arrears, ex-bankrupts and IVA repair can be accepted - each loan company has it's own criteria.

A personal bank loan from a loan company or bank is an amount of money which you borrow from your bank to be repaid at agreed intervals together with interest charges on the original amount (principal). Banks are likely to want to know your reasons for seeking a loan because they may have special terms which are suited to the particular type of purchase or the needs of their customer. Your bank will tell you which method it normally uses for lending money. Not all banks / loan companies have the same methods nor do they apply the same terms, so it often pays for a customer to shop around for the deal that suits them best.

The loan application form will require your full name, address, telephone number, date of birth and employment details. Information about your income and outgoings will also normally be required. This is to help your bank decide if you can afford to repay the loan without it becoming too great a burden for you. Personal loans are usually for a period of between 1 and 5 years. The manager needs to plan for any changes in your circumstances in the future such as employment prospects, which might alter the amount of money you have available to repay the loan. So he or she is likely to ask you questions about your future plans as well.
